The aligners are made of a transparent plastic material, custom-fit to your teeth, using advanced medical imaging technology. We can upload your 3D intra-oral scans to the manufacturer’s ClinCheck® software, which allows your dentist to map out your treatment plan from beginning to end.
Not only will ClinCheck provide your dentist with all the information they need to produce your aligners, but you can see a detailed visual representation of how your teeth will look once the treatment is complete.
The length of treatment depends on several factors that are unique to each patient. It can take 12-18 months depending on the individual, but it is possible to get a straighter, whiter smile in as little as 4 months at Banning Dental Clinics.

Meet the Team
Meet Dr. Karim
Karim graduated in 2012. He is passionate about postgraduate education and in 2014 became a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
In 2015 Karim started his Masters Degree in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at King’s College London completing this with distinction in 2018. He has a keen interest in treating complex restorative cases, particularly cases involving tooth wear and the re-establishment of occlusion. In addition to the clinical aspects of prosthodontics, Karim also enjoys the scientific component having completed research projects on the retention methods of implant crowns as well as research into the modern techniques for restoration of endodontically (root canal) treated teeth. This further peaked his interest and he currently undertaking another master degree programme in endodontics from the University of Chester.
Karim also enjoys cosmetic orthodontics having undertaken further training using fixed and removable orthodontic systems including the CFast and Invisalign systems. The use of cosmetic orthodontics systems serves as an adjunct to restorative cases and adheres to Karim’s philosophy of minimally invasive dentistry with many cosmetic cases completed by way of an “ABC” approach (Align, Bleach, Composite Bonding) often with little to no drilling of natural tooth structure.

What is an Implant?
Teeth can be lost for a variety of reasons including accidents, gum disease, and even poor general health. Missing teeth can affect the way you eat and speak but we also understand that the damage or loss of a tooth can have a significant impact on your confidence and wellbeing.
Due to advancements in modern dentistry, missing teeth can be successfully and predictably replaced with dental implants. A dental implant consists of an artificial titanium root that is fixed in place and remains in place, similar to a natural root. Implant treatment usually occurs in two stages.
The implant is placed in the jaw and allowed to fuse to the bone. Once the jaw has healed, a replacement tooth can then be attached to the implant.
Benefits of Dental Implant?
1. They are fixed into bone and look and feel like natural teeth so you (or anyone else!) should not even notice that you have a missing tooth.
2. As the implant is fixed into bone, chewing efficiency is greatly increased and you will not even notice that you’re biting onto an implant.
3. Also, as the implants are fixed into bone, you do not need to worry about taking them in and out like dentures.
4. Unlike a bridge, dental implants are placed on their own and do not require any drilling of the adjacent teeth.
5. When a tooth is removed, the bone in the area shrinks and the adjacent teeth can drift. A dental implant counteracts this bone loss by stimulating bone structure and stabilising the surrounding teeth.
6. Dental implants have been used for over 30 years and have excellent success rates.
Single Tooth Dental Implant
A single dental implant can be used to replace a single missing tooth and can blend into your smile for a completely natural look.
The implant is placed completely independently meaning you don’t have to have your adjacent teeth drilled down in order to place the implant.
Implant Bridge
If you have multiple missing teeth, they can also be replaced with implants. A three tooth gap for example can be restored by placing two implants (one at either end of the gap) and a restoration placed onto the implants which replaces the whole gap.
What is All on 4?
In simple terms, this enables a number of implants to be placed in the mouth at once so that the patient can enjoy a new set of full replacement teeth. The replacement teeth are made in the form of a denture placed over the implants which can be removed for cleaning purposes, or they can be made as a full set of teeth that fixed onto multiple implants.
These types of cases are truly examples of life changing dentistry and can also be used to help patients who require a new full set of permanent teeth. The treatment gives you your smile back, making sure it looks and feels natural.
This process requires intricate planning and assessment before we begin. The quality of jaw bone will also be assessed to ensure it is strong enough to hold the implants.
